Ingredients (for 1 glass, approx. 300 ml)

  • 5 g (≈ 2.5 tsp) hojicha powder
  • 50 ml hot water (80 °C / 176 °F)
  • 250 ml milk of your choice
  • 5 g (≈ 1 tsp) maple syrup

Preparation

  1. Place the hojicha powder in a bowl and whisk with 50 ml of hot water (80 °C / 176 °F) until smooth.
  2. Heat the milk and froth it to your liking.
  3. Add the maple syrup to a glass.
  4. Pour the frothed milk into the glass.
  5. Gently pour the hojicha mixture on top.

Tip: The layers look especially beautiful when served in a double-walled glass.
